Each week, on Monday, I tell you the history behind how one of the Disney full length animated films was made and then watch it for the first time and provide a synopsis with commentary on how that movie measures up to modern social attitudes. On Thursdays, when available, I talk to guests who loved that movie as a kid and discuss their memories about it. Sometimes, we talk about themes from the movie and go in depth into those.
Guests who want to talk about Disney Movies and their experience watching them for the first time since childhood. Especially interested if you have a topic that can be discussed in relationship to that movie (i.e. Coping with Trauma in Dumbo).
I want to help people connect with the experiences of biblical characters. I do this using literature, history, and personal experiences. This could be drawing comparing/contrasting Zechariah with Jean Valjean from Les Miserables or Mary with Joan of Arc. Being a Catholic who reads the Bible shouldn't be seen as an oxymoron, and I hope to change that.
Main episodes are going verse by verse through the gospel of Luke, but I would like to bring long-form episodes with guests where we talk about our faith journeys and our relationships with biblical characters. Clark Curtis, with over 35 years of experience in the communications business, has embarked upon documenting the incredible and fascinating story of Mirsad Hadzikadic in his quest for change in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Hadzikadic, a professor for over 30 years at UNC Charlotte and a native of Bosnia and Herzegovina, ran for president of his native country in 2018, using his candidacy as the platform to bring a vision of hope and change to his native country and plant the seeds for democracy. Although he did not win, his results were historic and unprecedented for a relatively unknown, totally underfunded, independent candidate. We are committed to following this story, as it unfolds, as we witness history and democracy in the making.

A topsy-turvy science-y history podcast by Sam Kean. I examine overlooked stories from our past: the dental superiority of hunter-gatherers, the crooked Nazis who saved thousands of American lives, the American immigrants who developed the most successful cancer screening tool in history, the sex lives of dinosaurs, and much, much more. These are charming little tales that never made the history books, but these small moments can be surprisingly powerful. These are the cases where history gets inverted, where the footnote becomes the real story.
