This podcast is looking for the following guests...
I'm looking for guests who are willing to wallow in their professional misery for 30 minutes.
It doesn't matter how big or small your mistake was, so long as you're willing to talk about:
* Context around the "mistake" -- either yours or someone else's / major firm in your field. (I don't want this to turn into a gossip rag, so no need to name company names / specific people / etc. It would obviously be more powerful if you talked about a personal mistake, but I understand that can be somewhat daunting.)
* What exactly the mistake was
* Why the mistake was a big deal, and why it was made (Bad information / assumptions? Messed up process? Lack of communication? Poor investment or distribution vehicle?)
* How the mistake was fixed or compensated for at the time
* How you do things differently as a result of the mistake
Please, don't try to come on with, "My greatest weakness was actually my greatest strength!" kind of malarky. We're trying to get real and nitty-gritty and authentic. These are edited, not posted as raw conversations, so don't worry about having a story completely ready to tell. I encourage you to listen to others' episodes before ginning up the courage to apply.
