Chela and Dave Coennen, Family Caregivers Turned Advocates of Cannabis Medicine In 2010, after Chela’s mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease, the couple dove into family caregiving and became fierce advocates for people living with dementia. When her mother, sixties glamor girl and television star Lisa Seagram, passed on February 1, 2019, the couple felt the need to share what they learned over their long journey, “Cannabis was by far the most effective medicine to ease the terrible behavioral symptoms of mom’s dementia,” says Chela Coennen.
