I grew up in Minnesota and Nebraska, and also spent some time living in Melbourne and British Columbia. I met my wife when we were backpacking in the UK, and I followed her back to Australia. We moved to Tasmania, where we now live with our son.

Tassie’s a great place to call home – I love the fresh air, the fresh food, and the wilderness that’s only moments away from my front door. I love losing myself in the mountains* and work as a wilderness guide on top of my career as a personal trainer.

I entered the fitness industry in 2009 when I started coaching Mixed Martial Arts. From that beginning point, I’ve broadened my skills and experience to include certifications and qualifications in personal training, massage, health science, complementary medicine, coaching and education.

I’ve competed in boxing, powerlifting, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and I currently teach Cert III & IV qualifications in Fitness at FitCollege Hobart.

As a wilderness guide, I’ve interacted with many adventure sport athletes who (like any athlete) put their bodies under intense strain. Working and spending time with backpackers (as well as being one myself) has taught me the importance and value of a well-structured training program that improves performance and reduces injury rates.
