About Simran Sahoo

Too often, little girls are told that they can do anything they put their minds to and no dream is out of the realm of possibility. However, when those little girls grow up, they will realize this may not be true because of gender inequality in the workplace, and it is important to commemorate those battles to allow girls like us to enter the workforce.

My name is Simran Sahoo and I am the author of Good but Not Good Enough. I wrote this book because I was frustrated with feeling that my hard work was worthless since my gender would prevent me from equal treatment in the future. I wanted to uncover stories of people who may have felt the same way but still made significant strides in their industry.

My hope is that, in reading this book, you will discover how women from all walks of life were able to overcome different aspects of gender inequality in their lives and used those experiences to make the lives of future generations better. In this book, I hope to instill in you the same sort of passion and excitement that I have for women’s fight for equality and acceptance in the workplace. Ultimately, I want you to see this book as a tool to help you feel inspired that your dreams can be fulfilled and if we work together and realize how much more there is to accomplish in terms of gender equality, we can come very close to achieving it.
