About Eric Clayton

My life, like so many of you, has had a series of ups, downs, good, and bad. I grew up in a home divided. My mom was a Jehovah’s Witness, and my dad was in ministry at a local A.M.E. Zion church. Mom brought my younger sister and I to the Kingdom Hall, and dad brought my two older brothers to the church. Holidays such as Christmas and Halloween we’re not celebrated by half the family, and when the school had a party, we were escorted to a lonely room while the other kids had a fun Christmas party. I couldn’t understand why some people could do things while other’s couldn’t. I also couldn’t understand why two people who loved each other, couldn’t stay married.

So fast forward over 30 years, and the same questions plagued me, so I began going to church and studying the Bible. Even more questions plagued me. Why does the Bible say there are things I can do, that I couldn’t do? Why are people preaching and teaching the Bible for many years, and they can’t do those things either? Why should I listen to someone that preaches about something that they themselves can’t do. Why do they tell me to believe something that they really don’t believe? The list goes on.

I’ve continued to study the Bible, and also read many other books both in print, and audio format about the mind, law of attraction, God, angels, demons, and so on. I’ve studied many philosophers, and teachers on the subject, and came to the conclusion that the only way to understand what a person is teaching, is to understand how they think. The success will never be in duplicating the person’s actions. The success will always be in duplicating the thinking and the process of thought that has led to specific actions based on where they are starting from. It’s as if I live in California and you live in New York. We both desire to go to Chicago. We have the same thought and desire and will end up in the same place, however, to get there, I will be going east, and you will be going west. The same is true with our life. When we desire to go somewhere, have something, or do something, it’s the thought and desire that will present the directions for us. Get the same thought and you can do the same thing. Think the same and you can do the same.

So armed with this information, I opened the Bible again, and lo and behold, that was the answer to all my questions. The God of scripture is within me and is only limited by my choice of thought as a seed to plant whatever I desire. Become master of thought.
