Engineering leader who builds things that matter — teams, products, and cultures that outlast any single role or company. I've spent 30+ years at the intersection of hard technical problems and the humans who solve them. I was an original executive team member at Secureworks, helping guide the company from a 50-person startup to a NASDAQ-listed enterprise. At GitLab, I led a globally distributed team of 100 engineers delivering security features and launched the company's first AI capabilities. Most recently at FloQast, I built a 40-person engineering team from scratch and architected an AI-driven accounting product that went from concept to significant revenue in under nine months. My current obsession is agentic AI — not as a buzzword, but as a genuine shift in how software gets built and how engineering teams operate. I've been deep in LangChain, LangGraph, and agentic workflow design, and I believe the leaders who understand both the technology and the human implications of this shift will define the next era of software. I hold 3 US patents in network security, database performance, and blockchain-based vulnerability management. I'm a CISSP. I've spoken at industry events, written for engineering audiences, and mentored dozens of engineers and leaders over the years. But honestly, the work I'm most proud of isn't on any patent or product roadmap — it's the engineers who grew into leaders, the teams that found their rhythm, and the cultures where people did the best work of their careers. I lead from a servant leadership philosophy. I believe in starting with why. I think psychological safety and high standards aren't in tension — they're prerequisites for each other. And I've learned that the best engineering cultures are built on trust, clarity, and a relentless focus on impact over output.
