About Eric Jorgensen

After receiving the diagnosis of PDD-NOS for my son William, my wife Christine and I embarked on a journey through the complexities of the special needs world. As a Navy serviceman, I was often away, leaving much of the research and caregiving responsibilities to Christine. Despite the challenges of finding clear answers, we navigated early intervention programs and therapies to support William's development, which included autism, intellectual disability, and Tourette Syndrome.

Tragedy struck in 2012 when Christine fell ill and passed away, thrusting me into single parenthood and a deeper involvement in the special needs community. Determined to prevent others from enduring similar hardships, I transitioned into financial services, offering specialized planning for families like mine. In 2017, I founded Special Needs Navigator to provide guidance and support to families facing similar challenges.

In 2020, facing a personal health scare with a cancer diagnosis, I realized the importance of focusing on what truly matters. After recovering from surgery, I merged Special Needs Navigator with True North Disability Planning, recognizing the significance of inclusive language in the special needs community.

Additionally, in 2023, I battled cancer once again, reaffirming my commitment to advocating for families with special needs. Today, as the Director of Beneficiary and Advisor Services for Visible National Trust, I continue to empower families with the financial tools and support they need to navigate their unique journey.
