About Anthony

Anthony Carter is a Creative and Innovative Leader currently living and working in Windsor, CT. His areas of focus as a creative leader are writing, documentary filmmaking and podcasting.

As a Creative and Innovative Leader, he has self-published seven books that examine black male mental health, money and relationships. He has also written, produced and co-directed four documentaries.

Anthony received the semi-finalist award for his play, Breakfast for Dinner, in New York City’s 2008 Strawberry Festival of One Act Plays. He received the Best Short Documentary Award for his film, Ask the Old Guy, in the Filmnest International Film Festival which also won the Official Selection Award in the Multi-Dimensional Independent Film Festival and the Mojo International Film Festival.

Besides working on films, podcasting and writing, Anthony also participated in the fall 2022 CNP Podcasting leadership Lab. During his training, he co-created a podcast about HIV with a powerful and committed cohort. In late spring of 2023, he joined the CNP Documentary Filmmaking Lab.

When he isn’t creating or coaching youth in work readiness workshops, he loves spending time with his husband, nine grandchildren and cooking wonderful vegan, plant based meals as part of his plan to live until 150 and support 100,000 black men in joining this health revolution.
