About John Wright

Born 1974
Born in Lake County Illinois moved to a suburb of Dallas in 1982. Studied Music and Economics in college. He joined the Navy in 1995. In 1999 he moved to Venice Beach California and played Jazz Guitar for 2 years then moved to Austin TX to start a band and a music production company with some high school friends.

John Wright was operating a Pedicab and became passionate about the environmental movement. John Wright funded his music production company riding pedicabs during the weekend. John produced 2 albums and 7 music videos within that year while also working 2 jobs.

John became passionate about pedi-cabbing in 2003. The city of Austin shutdown the Austin Music Network so John built 7 pedicabs and took them on the road follow large events like The Kentucky Derby and Marti Gras.

in 2005 a hurricane hit Fort Lauderdale and the tourist season was closed. The power was out in Fort Lauderdale for 17 days. During that time which he took job as a roofing project manager.

John learned and taught himself about roofing and roofing installation codes and city permits.

John had to learn on the fly how to interact with city inspectors, home owners and insurance people. John had to organize the insurance paperwork, city permits, inspections, materials and labor for each job.

In Fort Lauderdale there are 4 inspections that need to be scheduled before a roof can be considered completed.

This is where Johns life experiences will come in handy in his position as mayor.

John is used to working with people in order to get the job done.

John Wright first moved to Corpus Christi he took a job as a windstorm inspector for an engineering company. Loves the Corpus Christi restaurants, people and outdoor activities. John Wright has a roofing Company and is also a truck driver with crane certificates.
