About Rohan Sharma

My name is Rohan Sharma, and I am a professional speaker and suicide attempt survivor from the suburbs of Philadelphia. I began public speaking subsequent to serving a 23-month jail sentence after pleading guilty to an armed robbery that took place in the fall of 2011. Before this, I was a medical student at Drexel University College of Medicine. However, due to the fact that my Bipolar Disorder was misdiagnosed, I was given the wrong medication which in turn induced a psychotic episode that left me incarcerated in the Philadelphia prison system.

Since then, I have not only been able to piece my life together but have also discovered my passion for public speaking. I have shared my story at UPenn, NAMICon, and Temple University, among other schools and conferences. While in jail, I also learned to express myself through poetry and rap, and I now create music under the artist name "Rx Mundi".
