Alexander Karp

Alexander Karp began as an engineer at Hewlett-Packard and Whirlpool for 10 years. He later founded Utomic, leading it for 5 years before selling it and starting ETHA Natural Botanicals.

: Because Alexander was managing his own chronic health challenges, he relied on natural medicines and became frustrated by the lack of quality and transparency in the industry. This led him to co-found ETHA with the goal of raising standards and improving trust in natural medicine. ETHA’s first medicinal botanical was kratom, a plant indigenous to Southeast Asia commonly used to help manage pain. The company quickly became a leader in the kratom industry. Today, ETHA develops and manufactures a range of medicinal botanical products made from kratom, kava, tongkat ali, and more.

Alexander has become a leading voice in the kratom community and was inducted into the American Kratom Association Hall of Fame for his contributions to public education, safety standards, and advocacy. He enjoys sharing the science behind medicinal botanicals and is uniquely positioned to speak on natural medicine as a user, researcher, and owner of a leading botanical company.
