About Nikki "Blerd" Reid

I am a creator and entrepreneur, with a M.A. degree in Screenwriting and recipient of the A. Polonsky Screenwriting Award, which recognizes creative work with themes of social consciousness. My background is screenwriting and I use that as a tool to create content that showcase diverse stories.

My past project, (a hip-hop documentary) premiered at the Pan African Film Festival, in the best documentary category. Continuing my passion of coming of age stories and hip-hop, my web series was selected, for the Best Web Series category (Bronze Lens Film Festival 2020).

Taking my love of creating I started a new apparel company, that celebrates the unique qualities of nerds / blerds and the power of embracing one's inner geek. We believe that being smart, creative, and passionate about niche interests is something to be celebrated.

Our apparel combines stylish designs with elements of nerd culture, providing a way for individuals to showcase their love for all things nerdish while being authentically themselves.

I am interested in speaking on film, pop culture, and fashion from a consciousness point of view.
