Jeaninne Escallier Kato is a 36-year veteran educator of grades K-12, specializing in General Education, Special Education, and Bilingual Education. She also developed many community and mentoring programs via grant writing and fundraising, above and beyond her teaching duties. Jeaninne has been published in a variety of educational journals and literary magazines for her expertise. She has published two stories in the "Chicken Soup for the Soul" series; one story in the anthology "Gifts from Our Grandmother;" and won in all three categories for her flash fiction stories with "Wow-Women on Writing." She published the children's book "Manuel's Murals" in 2012, which won for Best Books in 2012, then rereleased it in 2025. Jeaninne just released her memoir "B.J.'s Promise: How My Dying Dog Found My True Love" in 2025. She is currently a new teacher coach for the California state Teacher Induction program out of Placer County in order to stay in the field of education, her first love. Jeaninne is also the producer and host of the program "Staging the Third Act" for Auburn Community Television. She and her husband, Glenn, enjoy their pets, travel, exercise, and enjoying time with family and friends.
