About Philip D Gibbons

I am a writer, journalist, filmmaker and podcaster who is passionate about history and biography with a focus on astonishing and amazing podcast stories, frequently about historical figures that are quite prominent, yet not always fully understood. I also focus on individuals who are completely unknown yet no less fascinating, boiling down these gripping episodes to less than an hour. Some of my podcast material includes information about the night the Nazis invaded the Hamptons at the height of World War II, the disgruntled Brit who walked out of the National Gallery with one of Britain's most valuable portraits and the eight Chicago White Sox who conspired to fix the 1919 World Series. But, I also cover other famous or notorious individuals including Edgar Allan Poe, Friedrich Nietzsche and Ernest "Che" Guevara, characters that are quite famous but that the average person knows very little about. As a student of history and an expert researcher, I always attempt to provide accurate information and especially look to correct frequently repeated conjecture that is the result of repetition or hyperbole. In 2000, I used my knowledge of Russian History to win $500,000 on the television program, "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?" If you are looking for a knowledgeable individual with a sense of humor and perspective who can entertain and fascinate your audience, please get in touch.
