About Jody Steinhauer

JODY STEINHAUER - BIO
As President and CBO (Chief Bargain Officer) of the Bargains Group, Jody has mobilized her award-winning discount wholesale and promotional products company to REVOLUTIONIZE the social impact landscape.
As a fairly young (< 30)winner of the Canadian Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Award, Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 and other notable awards, Jody uses her network of resources and leveraged buying power to aid every company and NFP agency/charity that she touches to maximize their buying dollar. Since 1988, Jody has grown the Bargains Group from her apartment living room to a multi-million dollar-a-year business.
Pioneering her belief of “giving back makes GREAT business sense”, Jody is a tireless NFP advocate, and the founder/CEO of the charity, Engage and Change, and its two annual initiatives, Project Winter Survival and Project Water. Through these projects, Engage and Change provides survival kits and helps thousands of homeless to survive the extreme weather conditions. Her true key to success is engaging and enabling people of all ages to donate their time to their local community through helping with the packing and distribution of these 7,000+ kits annually via sponsored group engagement events.
Jody’s most recent impact initiative is Kits for a Cause, a social enterprise dedicated to providing purposeful engagement to groups by matching them with charities through kit packing events. To date, Kits For A Cause has engaged: over 120,000 employees; to deliver 750,000+ ‘kits’; to 5,000+ charities globally; creating an impact of $11MM worldwide.
Recognized widely as a thought-leader, Jody is a frequent speaker at conferences on the topic of employee engagement and engaged philanthropy. She is also an award-winning author, contributing to the recent Amazon best-seller Women of Purpose: Creating a Better World.

Jody resides in Toronto with her husband, their 5 children and dog, Jewels.
