About Ralph Dranow

I write heart-centered poetry based on everyday life, finding beauty and epiphanies in seemingly ordinary events and people. It means being present and paying close attention to what's around me and inside me. Writing poetry is a joyful activity for me, a visceral way of expressing my feelings in a shorthand way, so I can connect deeply to myself and to other people as well. Also, I enjoy playing with language, finding the right word or image.

I have published eight books of poetry and my poems have appeared widely in literary journals. In addition, as an editor, I have edited poetry collections, helping several poets get their poems ready for publication. Also, I have coordinated or co-coordinated several poetry reading series.
