About Richard Skorupski

I love Rural America, then and now. I love to talk about it. I love to write bout it. There is a flavor here in the Wheat Belt that is unique and exquisite. The people here have a way about them that is friendly and charming. As a transplant, I enjoy living among them, talking about them, and writing stories about how they think, feel, play, and work.

I write nice stories about nice people in a quiet setting. Escape books? Certainly. But who doesn't need to escape from time to time?

Here is my bio:

Richard Skorupski
After a 21 year career in the Navy, Richard returned home to his native state of New Jersey. He followed his passion for the open waters and started a second career in the marine parts business.
However, the dense population of New Jersey and its high cost of living encouraged Richard and his wife, Cheryl, to find a more peaceful and friendly environment for his second retirement. Richard and Cheryl, now happily reside in Spink County, South Dakota.
Richard's love for South Dakota and appreciation for its people are portrayed through his third career as an author of his seven books centering around the fictional town of Helen, South Dakota.

Featured at the South Dakota State Fair and in prestigious publications, Richard tells the story of Rural America, then and now. All Richard’s stories are easy reading with happy endings.

The titles are:

Tom and Sarah - The Beginning
Flyover County
The Fred Weber Story
The Frank Stanbauer Story
Whiteout! And Other Stories
River Of Destiny
Sadie's Way
