About Carol Aubrey

Carol Aubrey is the creator of Incite to Write (https://incitetowrite.com/) , a motivating writing program for students that emphasizes critical thinking skills. Carol is an author and educator specializing in Writing, Higher Order Thinking Skills, Creative Learning and Creativity. A resident of Florida for 15 years, she provided teacher training for the Florida Dept. of Education and the FL Dept. of Cultural Affairs, and worked as a consultant and trainer for the school districts of Broward, Palm Beach, and Miami-Dade Counties.

A Kennedy Center Partners-in-Education educator/artist, Carol is a long-time arts integration advocate and practitioner, and she is a frequent speaker and presenter at arts educational conferences. While an Adjunct Professor for Lesley University in Cambridge, MA, she traveled around the country training teachers in their innovative M.Ed Creative Learning Program, a program that specializes in using the arts as a strategy to teach the core curriculum.

Carol’s unique and highly successful curriculum development achievements in Language Arts and Writing have been recognized and rewarded through the numerous local, state and federal grants she has received. The strategies that comprise the Incite to Write program have been developed in the classroom and fine-tuned over a decade. Incite to Write has been a success from the start, serving thousands of students every year from both public and private schools.

Using the Incite To write program, Carol created +Writing & Reading Specialists and Storytellers & Writers (https://storytellersandwriters.org/) under her non-profit organization, Transformational Learnig & Coaching, Inc.
Her organization became a provider of educational services under Title I and served hundreds of struggling students in NM, CA, TX, MT, and WA. Her programs had a 97% success rate in improving students’ scores on state standardized writing tests and writing prompts.

Carol has a B.F.A. Degree in Acting from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, and an M.F.A. Degree in Arts Administration from Brooklyn College, New York. Prior to creating her writing program, she taught in the Theatre Departments at Brooklyn College, Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, and Broward Community College in Ft. Lauderdale. Her first book, "Fearless Thinking"was released in February, 2009.
