About Kirby Kirkpatrick

I am an author, leadership coach, professional trainer, and speaker who helps people move from reaction to intention in leadership, relationships, communication, and faith. For more than two decades, I have worked with people in classrooms, churches, businesses, leadership teams, coaching conversations, and group settings. Across all of those environments, one thing has remained consistent: people want to grow, but they often do not understand the patterns driving the way they lead, communicate, respond, avoid, connect, or withdraw. That is the space I care most about. My work focuses on helping people recognize what is happening beneath the surface so they can live and lead with greater clarity, courage, and purpose. Sometimes that means helping leaders build a healthier operating system for decision-making, ownership, communication, and execution. Sometimes it means helping everyday Christians understand how God uses relationships as one of the primary places where spiritual growth becomes visible and practical. I am currently developing two major bodies of work. The first is SURGO, a leadership operating system designed to help leaders move from reactive patterns into intentional leadership. The second is Building Courageous Connection, an 8-week discipleship study focused on God’s design for relationships, the patterns we bring into connection with others, and the practical work of communication, conflict, forgiveness, identity, and community. At the heart of both projects is the same conviction: growth is not just about knowing more. It is about becoming more aware, taking responsibility for what we bring into the room, and learning to show up with greater courage and purpose. My style is conversational, practical, and story-driven. I use humor, analogies, and real-life examples to make deeper topics easier to understand and apply. I am not interested in theory for theory’s sake. I care about conversations that help people see themselves more clearly and leave with something they can actually use. Whether I am talking about leadership, faith, communication, relationships, or personal growth, my goal is to help people move from automatic reactions to intentional choices, and from surface-level success to deeper alignment with who they are called to become.
