Growing up in a dysfunctional home and legalistic church environment, I left home angry, broken, and confused. Wayward, selfish, and arrogant, I floundered until an atheist college professor challenged me to think more deeply about the meaning of life. I asked God to show me a sign "if you're real," and he did. For the past 28 years, life has had its ups and downs, but I have continued to follow the Lord through faith, sometimes stumbling but always leaning on Jesus. At my last church, I taught Sunday School, preached sermons, led worship, and led a small cell group.
