Jeff White is the CEO/President/100% owner of Holmberg Mechanical and we design, engineer, and build mechanical systems in large scale commercial projects. Our capabilities include plumbing, pipefitting, sheet metal, HVAC, refrigeration, and service. Our projects include hotels, high rise residential, maritime, military, higher education, and more. Our annual revenue is $70 million, we have 280 employees, and the company has been in business since 1949. He started his career as a union plumber who worked his way up in the company, earned an engineering degree at night school, and eventually purchased Holmberg Mechanical at 34 years old on a handshake deal with the owner.

We are reimagining business by leading with a social conscious for our team. For example, when he had to temporarily put employees on unemployment due to COVID-19 shutting down our projects, he decided to not accept a paycheck for the entire month of April. He did not feel it was fair for some employees to be on a partial paycheck and others not.

This past summer, an employee’s 18-year-old daughter went missing. Everyone in the company was concerned and felt helpless. The county search and rescue team allowed volunteers to join on day seven. Jeff immediately sent out a company-wide email asking for 30 people who were able to hike in the sun for eight hours to join the efforts. He set up zones that the professionals had already covered, divided everyone into teams, and lead a prayer at the beginning of the search. He also paid everyone for their time and refused to let them take a PTO day.

Jeff White is a prime example of a caring business owner who understands corporate responsibility.
