John Hewitt is a renowned American entrepreneur who has made a significant impact in the business world through his innovative ideas and strategic thinking. He is best known for his success in the tax preparation industry, having founded two of the largest tax preparation companies in the United States - Jackson Hewitt and Liberty Tax. Both companies represent two of the top 100 largest retail organizations in North America.

In 1982, John Hewitt founded Jackson Hewitt, which quickly became one of the most successful tax preparation companies in the country. With an innovative software and focus on customer service, Jackson Hewitt grew to over 6,000 locations nationwide at the top of the company’s success.

Throughout his career, Hewitt has been recognized for his entrepreneurial achievements. He has received numerous awards, including the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2003 and the International Franchise Association's Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2005. He is also a member of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame and the Junior Achievement Business Hall of Fame.
