About Allan Givens

My name is Allan Givens and I was conscripted into my first SEO job. I was a loan broker for a website and when one day my boss ask to take a walk to Bryant Park. I thought I was getting let go and that this was a way to do it without me "making a scene" but turns out they were just shutting part of the business I was in and wanted me doing something completely different that I had to learn from scratch, SEO. Since that time in 2015 I've grown and worked in several industries where I have expanded my digital marketing skillset. Currently I am the Director of Strategic Marketing for the live streaming app YouNow where my primary responsibilities are app store optimization, ORM, PR and organic campaign marketing. Having been in a panic mode after college it's interesting now to have features in Yahoo, MSNBC and other outlets and have created content that was seen by millions. People generally ask me how a major in sociology in a minor in women studies applies to marketing.
