About Lori's Language Lab

Lori’s Language Lab is a North Texas based English and communication studio designed for people who are fluent in English but still don’t feel confident using it in real life. Founded by educator and former engineer Lori Baker, the Lab goes beyond traditional ESL to focus on confidence, identity, and real-world communication.

Lori’s Language Lab serves international professionals, relocating families, and their partners, retirees, and multilingual learners who need English to fully participate at work, school, and in their communities. Many learners already know grammar and vocabulary, yet hesitate to speak in meetings, avoid social events, or feel exhausted from constantly second-guessing their words. Lori’s approach bridges that gap helping learners move from technically correct English to confident, connected communication.

Through private tutoring, small group classes, corporate programs, and discussion-based learning such as book clubs and conversation labs, Lori’s Language Lab creates safe, supportive spaces to practice real English for real life. Lessons are practical, personalized, and grounded in everyday situations from workplace conversations and small talk to healthcare, school systems, and cultural expectations.

At its core, Lori’s Language Lab believes language is about belonging. When people find their voice in English, they don’t just speak more they live more fully.
