My name is Michael Huskey. I am married to Nikki Huskey and we have been married for over twenty years and have three children. I was raised a pastor’s kid in northeast Arkansas. Though I attended church my entire life, God did not save me until I was in my mid-thirties. Prior to that I was your typical legalist who attempted to obey the law of God. I did not understand the gospel, which led me to feeling as though I was a failure in the faith. God gripped my heart and replaced it with a heart of flesh at a Bible study. I had never experienced exegetical teaching until that moment. It was through a verse-by-verse exegetical study that God saved me. Something changed inside of me at that moment, I could not get enough of God’s Word. I was desperately hungry and wanted to know all that I could about God and His plan for me and the church. Truth became my greatest pursuit. God gave me the gift of discernment which was heartbreaking because I began to see many problems in the church at large. This led me into a deeper study of theology, apologetics, and polemics. I consumed systematic theology books. I began to take many classes on theology, both systematic and historic. I learned from great teachers such as R.C. Sproul and John Calvin. I learned from great exegetes such as John MacArthur and Steve Lawson. The more I learned, the more I wanted to teach people what I had learned about God and about His Word and purposes. It was because of my hunger for truth that pastors began to recognize that I should teach. But I could not find any curriculum that was good enough, so I created my own. That is what led pastors to begin asking me to preach, and so I did.
We moved to beautiful Colorado in 2016. We serve the Lord at Celebration Church in Montrose CO. Celebration church is a Southern Baptist church that has a reformed pastor. I hope to continue writing books and curriculum in the future. I also am in the process of praying about become a pastor in a local church here in Montrose.
