Cortez J. Wash is a native Chicagoan. He married his college sweetheart Crystal Kay Wash. They have been married for 25 years, and out of their union was born one daughter. He is a husband/father who firmly holds strong biblical values. He believes fathers and husbands are crucial stakeholders in defending God's unit: The Family. He is a licensed minister, award-winning educator, and author. He received his bachelor's in English and a master's degree from DePaul University.
