About Kathy Imabayashi

Kathryne Savage Imabayashi Biography:

Kathryne has dedicated her career to positively impacting the lives of children, parents, and educators around the world. With a wealth of experience spanning various educational and cultural settings and leadership roles, Kathryne has left an indelible mark on the lives of children, parents and teachers.

From her early days as an elementary teacher in Canada, to her leadership roles as a Principal in Georgia and Director in Qatar and Tokyo, Kathryne has consistently strived to make a difference. Her journey has taken her from classrooms in Japan and Lebanon to administrative positions in Thailand and Hiroshima, shaping the lives of countless students and colleagues along the way.

Throughout her distinguished career, Kathryne has been a passionate advocate for understanding and supporting the unique needs of boys. Through teacher workshops, presentations, parent counseling and information sessions, she has worked tirelessly to challenge stereotypes and reshape perceptions about masculinity in society.

Among her many achievements, Kathryne takes pride in raising her own son to become a remarkable man and in founding Sonhood Coaching, where she continues to empower parents and educators with her expertise. Other accomplishments were President of the Tokyo Association for International Preschools; created and implemented a comprehensive Early Years curriculum; and founded and established an International Preschool in Japan.

Kathryne holds a Canadian Teachers Licence from the Nova Scotia Teachers College, a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Maine, USA, and a Master of Education from Framingham State University, USA. Her commitment to lifelong learning and professional development is evident in her continued pursuit of excellence in supporting children and their caregivers.

Today, Kathryne resides in Itoshima, Fukuoka-ken, Japan, where she shares her knowledge and strategies through live workshops, online webinars, and personalized coaching sessions. Through her work and social media presence, she remains steadfast in her mission to create a more empathetic and understanding world for boys, challenging societal norms and fostering respect for their unique journeys.
