About Cici Owen

Have you ever been rejected, abandoned, abused, beaten, ignored, written off, or disregarded?

I never knew my birth mother, but my God has always been with me.

I was born in 1958 to a white mother who abandoned me after her family discovered the father was black.

I endured emotional and physical abuse as a biracial kid in the ghettoes of Newark, where I was shuffled from one dysfunctional home to another.

I desperately wanted to be loved and show love but was rejected at home and school.

But I refused to give up, becauae I knew my God was with me.

I evenually ran away to live on the streeets of Newark and New York, where I learned the martial arts to protect myself as a homeless kid.

The intense training provided the emotional and mental strength I would later need as a black female in white male dominated occupations.

My life has been marked by rejection and abandonment, but the lessons I learned as a martial artist honoring God served me well.

All of us are fighting some kind of adversary, no matter our race or gender.

Allow me to inspire and empower your listeners who face their own tribulations.
