We are the two founders of Sound AiSleep, we have built the app and launched a couple of weeks ago.

Imagine a world where kids can drift off to sleep listening to their parent's soothing voice, narrating their favourite stories – even if they don’t have time to read to their kids that night! That’s what our app Sound AiSleep does – offering kids audiobooks spoken in their parents voice, using AI voice clones – the first of its kind.

It all started with an insight – kids are soothed to sleep faster when they hear their caregivers voice. When we came up with the idea a few years ago, the tech wasn’t there yet. Now, AI voices are exploding, with voice clones becoming more and more accessible and realistic. So, around 6 months ago, we picked the idea back up and tried to make it something – fast forward to now, we have a seamless app where we use AI to create parent’s voice clones. They simply record their voice for a few minutes directly in our app, to instantly create their voice clone, then choose any book from our kids library to create their very own personalised audiobook, in minutes.

We’ve engrained AI into every aspect of our app, whether that’s book cover artwork, lines of code or even some of the stories themselves. Utilising the ever improving AI voice clones, and if the progression in the last few months is anything to go by, we’re excited to see what’s yet to come.

We know that AI and kids is a sensitive topic and the one thing we want to make sure is that we don’t want to replace parents reading bedtime stories to their kids but rather upgrade the occasional audiobook they turn on for their kids when they don’t have time to read to them, or turn the “are we there yet” car journey nightmares into adventures!
